In short

  • In Men Open, half of all results are under about 1:27 (1:27:16). The top 25% finish under about 1:17 (1:17:27).
  • In Women Open, half of all results are under about 1:35 (1:35:22). The top 25% finish under about 1:25 (1:25:20).
  • For a first HYROX, the most useful goal is to finish while managing your effort: you then have a real benchmark to beat.

Times by division

How to read the table: the median is the time that splits the field in half. "Top 25%" is the time you need to beat to be in the fastest quarter.

Pro times are faster even though the weights are heavier. HYROX presents the Pro division as being for experienced athletes: the gap most likely comes from who enters, not from an easier race.

Up to 40, times barely move. They start to slow in the forties (especially for men), and the gap widens clearly after 50.

What about doubles?

In doubles you run together and share the station work: times are clearly faster than in singles. In season 2025/26, the median finishing time is about 1:16 in Doubles Men and 1:28 in Doubles Women.

Where do you stand?

  • First HYROX: finish without stopping in the Roxzone. You now have a benchmark.
  • Under the median for your division (and, in Open, your age group): you are in the faster half.
  • In the top 25%: a very good level, which takes regular training in running and strength.
  • In the top 5%: a competitive level.

To improve, look at where you lose the most time: the running, the heavy stations (sled, lunges) or the wall balls. Our guide Prep for a HYROX gives a sample week, and the 8 HYROX stations lists the weights for each division. For your running paces, use the pace calculator.

FAQ

What is the average HYROX time?

In Open, half of men's results are under about 1:27 and half of women's results under about 1:35. These are medians: they say more than an average, which the slowest times pull upwards.

Is a sub-1:30 HYROX time good?

In Men Open, it's around the median (1:27:16): under 1:27 you're in the faster half; between 1:27 and 1:30 you're just behind. In Women Open, it's clearly better: about 5 minutes under the median (1:35:22), between the median and the top 25%.

How long does it take to prepare?

It depends on where you start. If you already run and lift regularly, a few weeks of training specific to the stations and to running on tired legs make a real difference.

Tables by division and age: NORMA analysis of 1,028,303 results from seasons 2024/25 and 2025/26, taken from the official results published at results.hyrox.com (norma-athletics.at). Each row is one race: an athlete who raced three times counts three times. Doubles times: RoxHype analysis of season 2025/26 (roxhype.com). The two analyses, carried out separately from the same official results (over different periods), give medians less than a minute apart for every singles division.
