Privacy policy — RUNESIS Nutrition

1. Who are we?

2. In short
- To use RUNESIS Nutrition, you create a RUNESIS account, the same one as for RUNESIS Training and RUNESIS Coéquipier.
- Your data is on your phone and backed up to your account, so you can find it again on another phone.
- Part of your data (your daily totals, your weigh-ins, your race fuel plan) is shared with the other RUNESIS apps on your account.
- The AI coach and photo analysis send nothing to our AI provider without your consent.
- No advertising, no advertising trackers, no audience measurement tools, no data resale.
3. Your RUNESIS account (shared by the three apps)
Your account is managed by the RUNESIS server, hosted by Render (Frankfurt, Germany), with a MongoDB Atlas database (Paris, France).
What the RUNESIS server receives for your account: your email address, your first name, your password (stored encrypted, never in plain text) or your “Sign in with Apple” login, and your subscription status.
What RUNESIS Nutrition sends to the RUNESIS server, so that Training and Coéquipier can use it:

The details of your log (food names, times, photos) are not sent to the RUNESIS server.
What RUNESIS Nutrition reads from the RUNESIS server:
- your completed sessions and your program for the next 14 days, if you have turned on session sharing in RUNESIS Training;
- your goal race (name, date, distance, elevation gain);
- your athlete profile, if you have turned on its sharing in RUNESIS Training. It is received on your phone, but RUNESIS Nutrition does not use it for its calculations today;
- your subscription status (free, RUNESIS+ or Nutrition only).
This data is kept by the RUNESIS server for as long as your account exists.
4. The detailed RUNESIS Nutrition backup (Supabase, Paris)
So that you can find your full log on another phone, RUNESIS Nutrition keeps a copy of your app data on your account. This copy is hosted by Supabase Inc., on servers located in France (Paris region, European Union). It can only be accessed with your RUNESIS account.

No photos are stored on our servers.
5. What stays only on your phone
- The meal photos you choose to keep (“Keep my photos” option).
- Your sign-in session, kept in the phone's secure keychain.
- The weather for your city and temporary copies of the data read from your account.
- Your reminders (including the last-coffee reminder): they are scheduled on the phone, without going through a server.
- Widgets and the Live Activity: the app copies a summary of your day (intake, hydration, companion) into a folder on the phone shared with the RUNESIS widgets. Nothing goes through a server.
- The Ciqual (ANSES) table of common foods is built into the app: searching for a food sends nothing.
6. AI coach and photo analysis
These two features use Claude, the artificial intelligence model from Anthropic (contracting party for the European Union: Anthropic Ireland, Limited; parent company Anthropic PBC, United States). Data may be processed in the United States. This transfer outside the European Union is governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, included in Anthropic's data processing agreement.
Nothing is sent without your consent: you must turn on the “AI” consent (when creating your profile, or in Settings › Data & privacy › My consents). Without it, the coach answers offline, based on the app's calculations.
What is sent, through our server functions (Supabase, Paris):
- Coach: your question and a summary calculated by the app — your goal, your weight, your guidelines and your intake for the day, your sessions for the day (title, time, duration, intensity). Your name, your email and your history are not sent. Figures you have chosen to hide (calories, macronutrients) are not sent either.
- Photo analysis: the photo of your plate, sent once for the analysis.
Retention: our servers keep neither your questions nor your photos. Anthropic does not train its models on this data and deletes it automatically within 30 days, unless it is flagged for breaching its usage policy (kept for up to 2 years) or the law requires otherwise.
Limits: with a free account, 3 AI questions and 3 photo analyses per week (reset on Monday); with Premium, no weekly limit, with a safety cap of 40 questions and 15 photos per day.
7. Other services used
- Open Food Facts (open database run by a French non-profit): when you scan a product, only the barcode is sent to retrieve its composition. No personal data is sent.
- Open-Meteo (open weather service, in Europe): if you choose your city to adapt your hydration to the heat, the name you type (for the search) then the coordinates of the chosen city are sent. The app does not use your GPS location.
- Apple Health (iPhone) and Health Connect (Android): only if you turn it on, the app reads your workouts, your sleep, your resting heart rate, your heart rate variability, your weight, your body fat percentage and your lean body mass. The app writes nothing to Apple Health or Health Connect. This data is never used for advertising and is never sold. Imported weigh-ins are shared with your account as described in section 3.
- Subscription — Apple, Google and RevenueCat: payment is made through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google); we never see your bank details. RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) manages your subscription status: it receives your RUNESIS account identifier (not your email), the purchase information passed on by the store and technical information about the app (version, language, store country). It notifies the RUNESIS server to unlock Premium. No health or log data is sent to RevenueCat, Apple or Google.

We do no commercial profiling, no advertising and no resale of data.
9. Deleting your data or your account
- Delete all your data (Settings › Data & privacy › Delete all my data): erases your data from the phone and the detailed RUNESIS Nutrition backup on your account.
- Delete your RUNESIS account (Settings › Account › My account › Delete my RUNESIS account): deletes your account for all three apps (Training, Nutrition, Coéquipier). The RUNESIS server erases your data. RUNESIS Nutrition also erases its backup, your consent log and your AI counters, then clears the phone. If you signed in with Apple, RUNESIS's access to your Apple account is also revoked.
- If you delete your account from RUNESIS Training or RUNESIS Coéquipier, the RUNESIS server automatically notifies RUNESIS Nutrition, which immediately erases its backup, your consent log and your AI counters. You have nothing to do.
- A subscription is not cancelled by deleting the account: cancel it in your phone's settings (App Store or Google Play).
- Uninstalling the app erases the data on the phone, but not your account or your backup.
10. Your rights
At any time, you can:
- withdraw a consent (Settings › Data & privacy › My consents);
- export all your data to a file (Settings › Data & privacy › Export my data);
- correct your data in the app;
- delete everything (erasure).
For any other request (access, rectification, objection, restriction): g.lioni@runesis.fr. We reply within one month. You can also contact the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
11. Security
- All exchanges use HTTPS.
- Your session is kept in the phone's secure keychain.
- The Nutrition backup can only be accessed with your account, and only through our server functions.
- Service keys (AI, database) stay on our servers, never in the app.
- The app does not store your health data in iCloud.
12. Minimum age
RUNESIS Nutrition is for people aged 18 and over. The app does not allow a profile to be created when the year of birth entered corresponds to under 18.
13. Health warning
RUNESIS Nutrition gives educational guidance. It is neither a medical device nor medical advice. If you have an illness, are under treatment, pregnant or have an eating disorder, consult a healthcare professional.
14. Changes
We notify you in the app of any significant change to this policy. The version date is at the top of this page.
